Sorry I haven't been posting much over the last few months, but there really hasn't been much going on. We've played Livewire in Chicago just before Christmas which was an awesome show with some great bands, we did my birthday show, and had one show at The Blue Pig since Dana's been locked up in Utah. The 2-piece incarnation of Wisconsin Beef Commission is weird, and we've gotten some real shit reactions. Every show we've done, people have said "Wow, you guys are really missing something without Dana". NO SHIT!! It wasn't like we really had a choice in the matter. Dana was locked up, and we tried our damnedest to stay relevant in the scene, especially with the album coming out (CD will be released soon, but the album is available on iTunes, GooglePlay, Amazon Mp3, Zune, and xBox). So the only option we had was the 2-piece Wisconsin Beef Commission. That said, the last show of this type will be this Saturday at The Monkey Bar.
Dana in under the 30 day mark for her incarceration. This being the case, we are ironing out the details for her homecoming show. As of now, it'll be at Kochanski's Concertina Beer Hall on May 18th, which was where we had one of our best shows last summer. I'm in talks with some bands to play with us, and so far our labelmates Billy Dreamer are on board.
We are planning on this being an EPIC show. I've decided that the shows I'm going to set up from here on out are going to be with bands that not only sound great, but are fun to watch. The standing around playing thing that you see in a lot of the hipster scene is getting old, and I have made the decision to not bore our fans with these bands anymore than I have to. Those who've seen Billy Dreamer, know what a show is, and they BRING IT!! They are a tough band to follow. We have already sent event notices out so everyone can schedule accordingly. This is everyone's chance to get out and show Dana how much she means to all of us.
So here's where we stand, Mike and I are playing one last show sans Dana on Saturday at The Monkey Bar, then we'll be getting Dana back to speed and playing our next full show at Kochanski's on May 18th, then in June, we'll be up in Sturgeon Bay WI for Steelbridge Song Festival for our 3rd consecutive year. The CD should be available for sale at some point in that time, but can be purchased now online.
If anyone has any questions for us or what not, feel free to contact us through our Facebook page, as it gets checked quite regularly by Mike and myself. Dana can be found on FB too, but has limited time to respond, and to my knowledge, she doesn't check the band page too often. Her access is limited to her time of work release when she's not actually working.
This just in: Miss Fists and the Astro Zonbies (female fronted Misfits tribute band with ex Maybenauts and the guys from Honey Get Your Gun) are also going to be playing the May 18th show!! PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR!!!!
